Ramsgate 2014
Ten extremely varied boats that went to Ramsgate:
- Aurai (Chas, Jane and Mike)
- Frawne Justea (Ian Hay’s Dutch barge with Rod Laws)
- Kouklamou (Bob and Gavin Niles)
- Joleta of Pettycur (Andrew and Monica Varney’s junk-rigged Salty Dog)
- Jollyphonics (Mike and Catherine)
- Lodestar (Mark and Helens Montgomery-Smith’s Stella)
- Seaforth (Ian Ree’s Westerly Longbow)
- Titcha 3 (Mark Evans’ Macwester, now based at Queenborough)
- Triassic (Nigel and Monica Stevens’ very fast Farrier 27 tri)
- Woodstock-Hi (Tony Lavell).
We had a super sail both ways. Southerly force 4 on Saturday and Northerly F4 today, so very fast and no tacking needed.
On Sunday, Derek and Jan came by car and spoke to the 30 or so diners at the Royal Temple Yacht Club. Then Charles Hessey did a great speech presenting “prizes” to “competitors” in Saturday’s passage race from S Kent to Longnose. Afterwards we went to the Horse and Groom for a lazy afternoon playing boules (as you do) in the sunshine.
